Key Information

  • The role: You would be working closely with science communicator Liv Boeree (website, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram) to produce her digital content.

  • Location: We have a strong preference for this role to be in-person and Austin, Texas-based. However, we will consider exceptional remote candidates, especially if they are willing to travel to Austin on a regular basis.

  • Starting salary: $80,000 - $100,000, dependent on experience and skills. Generous benefits package.

  • Deadline: We will review and process applications as they come in and aim to respond to your application within 10 working days of receiving the fully completed first stage of your application. The Multimedia Producer will project manage and produce Liv’s various forms of content and work commitments, such as short films, podcasts, talks and live streams across a range of platforms and formats, but with primary emphasis on Youtube. This includes:

  • Building and maintaining consistent posting schedules, workflow and asset management systems.

  • Assisting with pre and post production, including filming, editing and graphics (including sourcing external help when necessary).

  • Repurposing existing content for other platforms.

  • Conducting occasional research for video scripts, articles, speaking engagements etc.

  • Brainstorming with Liv to devise strategies and opportunities to grow her profile and raise awareness of her main specialty topics of effective altruism, science and rationality.

The successful candidate will be managed by Liv Boeree (which involves weekly 1-1s at minimum).

Who Should Apply for This Role?

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following attributes:


  • Video editing skills: Final Cut/Premier Pro preferred.

  • Design skills: demonstrated ability to create basic motion graphics, images, templates and thumbnails.

  • Strong project management: 

    • experience in being responsible for moving media projects forward from inception to completion; 

    • ability to manage upwards and keep key stakeholders (including Liv) on track; 

    • ability to create systems and structure to ensure good workflow and consistent content creation; and

    • ability to source external help when necessary.

  • Independent and proactive: able to use discretion and good judgement to execute on tasks without step-by-step instructions. 

  • Discretion and confidentiality: commitment to maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality.


Desirable but not essential

  • Videography experience e.g. DSLR camera setup, lighting, sound.

  • Animation skills.

  • Past experience in growing social media channels; knowledge of YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Substack algorithms. 

  • Willingness to learn about ideas related to effective altruism, long-termism, philosophy and technology. Prior knowledge is a plus, but not essential. 

  • Ability to research a wide variety of topics, communicating learnings in a concise and compelling manner.

We are able to sponsor work visas for this position.

Salary, Benefits and Location

  • We have a strong preference for this role to be in-person in Austin, Texas. However, we will consider remote candidates who are willing to regularly travel to Austin. 

  • Longview will cover all reasonable relocation costs.

  • All roles have a 3-month probationary period. 

  • Starting salary of $80,000 - $100,000, dependent on experience and skills.

  • Benefits include: generous paid vacation time, 10% employer pension contribution, equipment budget, training budget, $5,000 p.a. well-being budget, and private healthcare.

Application Process

  • First stage: Resume, showreel and/or work sample and short application form.

  • Second stage: paid work task (c. 6 hours).

    • We will pay candidates $50/hr (total $300) for completing this stage.

  • Third stage: in-person structured interview (1 hour).

  • Fourth and final stage: in-person 1 week work trial.

    • We recognise an in-person trial is a significant commitment. Compensation will be provided to all candidates who complete a work trial ($1,000/working week). We are keen to work with the final candidate(s) to ensure they are able to complete a work trial, and aim to be flexible and accommodating.
