Community

Great work is not done in isolation.

Along with research, grantmaking, and donor education, we are passionate about creating and fostering an ecosystem of thoughtful people working for positive change. At our annual retreats, we bring together philanthropists, academics, industry leaders, public intellectuals, policy-makers, and other brilliant people who deeply care about improving the world.

From dinners to residential retreats, our events bring together philanthropists and experts for discussion, learning, and connecting with peers. Our in-house team produces highly curated events worldwide with a structured programme of Longview events to best serve the aims of the philanthropists we work with.

Longview Events
Nuclear Weapons Philanthropy Summit
October 2025
Nuclear Weapons Philanthropy Summit
New Jersey, USA

A two-day, closed-door summit that convened leading philanthropists and many of the world’s foremost nuclear experts to assess a rapidly evolving nuclear threat landscape. Discussions examined intensifying great-power rivalry, the erosion of arms control frameworks, and AI-driven shifts in nuclear risk and stability. Participants shared lessons from past philanthropic successes and explored opportunities to rebuild civil society capacity and invest in solutions that reduce the risk of catastrophic nuclear war.

Nordic AI Safety Summit
September 2024
Nordic AI Safety Summit
Stockholm, Sweden

A two and a half-day residential retreat co-hosted with the Astralis Foundation in Stockholm, Sweden. The event convened 25 Nordic philanthropists with leaders from non-profits, governments, and frontier AI labs for conversations about AI safety & governance, with a focus on the need for European action. Attendees witnessed technical demonstrations of deepfakes and bioweapon design previously shown only to heads of states, and discussed solutions to combat these threats.

It can sometimes be difficult to make an event truly interactive and valuable; the Longview team is incredibly thoughtful and were able to do so seamlessly. Their learning session was unlike any other informational webinar, and all participants were engaged, empowered and left with new insights!
