Ruby Emerson

Ruby supports Longview’s CEO across strategy, grantmaking, and operations. Her work has long centred on connecting evidence to decision-making across policy and philanthropy, and she joined Longview drawn by the chance to help direct serious philanthropic resources toward the problems most likely to shape the long-term future. Before joining Longview, Ruby was a researcher at Rethink Priorities, helping major funders make grants across global health, climate, and emerging technologies. She also served as a member of the Colorado House of Representatives, where she passed eight bills into law. She holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford and a BA in Economics and Chinese from Lawrence University.
